Reaped	intersession is a good time for observing the human comedy. from my view at the desk, i watch the parade of librarians. a pack of 3 go by, the dept. head, my boss, and the business librarian. they're all dressed up in pastel and floral prints, looking quite ready for an afternoon of shopping and lunch in hyde park. a couple minutes later the art and english librarians rush quickly past, quietly mulling the choice between thai or vietnamese. meanwhile, the newbreed librarian stumbles in, looking rougher than me on the 7:30am shift, hungover from a night of post soccer libations. at least he's got a nice windowless office in which to recover. but now its lunchtime for me, reference slave. now where'd i put my stale bread and distilled unrine?
