| Reaped | Inside your mind... I don't understand the logic. A hacker writes a virus to shut down the very thing that makes him a hacker. Where is the fun in that? You can't chat with your buddies about what a hard core Netizen you are when all you see are 404 errors. Once the Net is down what are ya gonna do, go to the Kwik Stop for your porn? Pay??? Fresh air?? SUNLIGHT?!? These kids need to think these things through a little better. Perhaps I'm just testy because now I can't modify my Amazon account to make it stop giving me The South was right & Everything But the Girl's entire discography as my only recommendations. You buy one cd & a book for your racist aunt... It's a moot point for me to sit at the reference desk today. The computers here are being remotely handled by IT Guy, our virus slayer & general hack when it comes to the ones & zeroes. So now all 16 computers flash "Windows is shutting down", repeatedly. I saw a news article about the s o b i g / n a c h i virus waiting for some new & evil 'command' from it's creator. Slowly loading internet porn aside, there's something cool about shutting down the New York Times servers with a push of a button. IT guy just ran wild-eyed through the reference area. "ANything not being used needs to be turned off now! NOW! AUGHHHHHH!" Then he tore out the remaining patch of hair on his head, collapsed on the floor, & expired. With a lone death rattle, he sighed. "I die." Virus attacks really kick the shit out of libraries, you know? |
