1:16 p.m. I got it BAD, so BAD.... 2003-04-03

Reaped david lee roth is prancing around my brain singing "I've got it bad, got it bad, got it bad...I'm hot for teacher". This began somewhere between the tater tots and chef salad I had for lunch. Teaching a class in an hour, we'll see how it goes.
Last night I was planning on going to the Less Than Jake show, but when I got home the phone rang, and who was on it but James. "Guess where I am," he sang.
"Here?" I countered jokingly.
"Yep."
Then it was shrieks of joy and empty threats for not calling earlier, and off we were in Ruby Vroom to the mysterious and yet unexplored Westbank, which turned out to look like every other suburb you've ever seen in your life. For a moment I thought I was back in Brandon FL, for all the strip malls and free standing Eckerds cradling the three straight lanes of asphalt into the horizon.
We rescued the Bug from his garish Cajun revival Best Western hotel (which had the whole pan-opticon thing going for it, what with the tall sides of the building blocking any view of the surroundings but the pool & courtyard. If you have no inkling as to what a panopticon is go read Michel Foucault's Discipline & Punish & get back to me later), booked it back to Uptown, broke open the booze, and proceeded to party like we only had 5 hours to do it. Which was true. The Bug had to be back at the hotel at 8AM to meet with his business partner, so it was really a brief visit. But a nice surprise.
So now I sit in my office, a little tired, a little bored, waiting for class time to roll around. Mr. Roth continues to strut his spandexed ass around my head to old Van Halen, which is beginning to hurt a bit. And now my belly too. Spooty tots of tater! You shall be my undoing.
