| Reaped | Why is the internet so friggin slow today? It must be due to the fact that four of our good friends have descended on the house for Jazz Fest. The Brandon crew. Partners in crime. Fellow followers of that dorky dork hack & slash game we call D&D. They were en route as I left for work earlier today. Hence, Murphy�s law dictates, thy pages must taketh forever to load, thy guestbook shall display the mantra of the 404 error, & thou shalt spend an eternity of afternoon at an empty reference desk, awaiting a patron shall appear nevermore. Well I helped one lady today, looking for the birthday of Irving Lester Janis. Perhaps you�ve heard of him? Coined the �groupthink� philosophy back in the Eighties? Oh well, never mind. He died of lung cancer over a decade ago. The lady was happy for the information. Said, �those guys at the public library couldn�t find anything on him.� But that doesn�t surprise me. It�s the Dirty South, mama. 504. So I got her information, printed it all out like the freebie queen I am, and she said, �Thanks sooo much! What�s your name?� �Da weez.� �Well Weez, you�re so nice, I�m gonna pray for ya.� To which I replied, �Thanks, I need all the help I can get.� But that was interesting. No one�s said that to me before for helping them do their homework. So, uh, God? Better listen to your believers & send summa dat good karma down on me. Except, I don�t think God delves out the karma. Think that�s Shiva�s territory. You know, I really wish all the deities would get together & form the Super Best Friends & rid the world once & for all of evil Blainetologists. That Jesus is a badass. |
